Boba Inc Bubble Tea

Spotted a new bubble tea in front of Yamagoya Ramen. Seems like more and more bubble tea outlets mushrooming in Jakarta nowadays. Well, fine with me, more to come please. ;)

It was my first time knowing Boba Inc although the one at UOB Plaza is their 4th outlet. They were having promo "buy 1 get 1" during that time (only until 15apr). In comparison with other bubble tea joints in Jakarta such as Cha Time, Bobabits and Come Buy, Boba Inc came with lesser selections. One of their best seller was Nutty Professor, hazelnut milk tea with honey boba. I noticed they have some unique toppings like honey boba, pink boba, strawberry boba, yogurt boba, etc.

Yamagoya Ramen

A week ago, Hubby and I had something to do at UOB Plaza when I spotted another new ramen place in Jakarta, located in the corner of B1. The place was humble, and like most of ramen places, dominated with red color.

Revisited: Tin Pan Alley

One of my ex-colleagues who is one of my close friend now was coming to Jakarta during CNY. She moved to Spore after she got married. Actually almost all of us were not working in the same company anymore, but time to time we still put some time to catch up. ;)

Last Friday, we went to Tin Pan Alley. There were 5 of us along with my friend's husband who was also our colleagues but he was working for the headquarter in Spore and their super cute 8 month old daughter, Kaylie. We called her baby K. =)

We sat down and began to order. For the appetizers we went for Grilled BBQ chicken salad (59k), Potato wedges with southern chili (52k) and Grande nachos (49k). I like the salad, it was fresh & over dressing. I don't like the nachos though, it was not crunchy so it felt a little bit soggy.

For the entree, we chose Tin Pan Alley burger (75k), Grandma's fried chicken dinner (75k), Mushroom stuffed chicken breast w/ white butter sauce (69k), Pork chop w/ handmade cranberry sauce (105k) and Grilled pork sausages w/ dijon mushroom sauce (95k). We shared all the foods so each of us can know each of the meals taste, well except for the burger, I didn't try that as it was my friend husband's order, but he said it was just ok. As for the rest of the food, it was standard but two of them strikes out more compare to others, the pork chop which was juicy and tender, love the fatty part. ;) and the sausages were deliciously savory.

Grandma's Fried Chicken Dinner (deep fried boneless chicken thigh w/ mashed potatoes)

Mushroom Stuffed Chicken Breast (chicken breast stuffed w/ spinach, mushroom & cream cheese served w/ mashed potatoes)

Pork Chop w/ Hand Made Cranberry Sauce

Grilled Pork Sausage (bratwurst & krakauer pork sausages served w/ french fried in Dijon mushroom sauce)

Overall I had a great time. Good meals, comfy place, great laugh with great companies.

Dedicated to my pretty ex-colleagues. May we always stay friends. ;)

Revisited: Pesto

Saturday night, we went to Pesto for dinner. It surprised me when we reached there and they were not as full as they always do, although I did saw many reserved signs on the tables. Pesto had 2 dining sessions, 7 - 9pm and 9 - 11pm. I was glad that it was not too full, in the hoping that the service will be faster.

Here's what we ordered.

Pizza Rustica (59k) - Tomato sauce, mozarella, cooked ham and mushroom. To me, it was standard and a bit too dry.

Spaghetti Farmeti (65k). Generous condiments, the pasta was cooked well, but I don't like the wine sauce. But it's only because of my taste, I prefer dry spaghetti aglio type.

Spiedini di carne (85k) - Grilled sirloin skewered with onion and fresh salad. The beef was tender and juicy, the only minus point was too small portions. ;)

I actually ordered a Panacotta for my dessert, but it didn't show up. We had asked 3 times for it until I lost my patience and decided to ask for the bill. After paying, I asked for a comment card as I was very disappointed on the service that Pesto served that night, when the waiter saw me writing on comment card, he asked me whether my panacotta had been served, I said not yet, and right after I finished writings, my panacotta was served, but I was to pissed to eat it, so I didn't even bother to touch it and just leave without putting any tips, something that I rarely did. So you can judge how pissed I am that night, especially before the waiter also mistakenly forgot to write down our Risotto.

I do hope it was only a bad night as I had great time in Pesto before, and I am still curious to try the killer Tiramisu. I'll be back, don't disappoint me again dear. =)

Pesto

Me and hubby were having dinner at Pesto with friends on Saturday night. Even it had opened for quite some time, I haven't been there before. The place was quite crowded, luckily my friend had called earlier for reservation. But still we ended to get a smoking section as the non smoking one was only available in another half to one hour. We were hungry so we didn't mind to sit in the smoking area.

I love the ambiance and the interior design. It was spacious with dim light and they had a big open kitchen near the enter. Since it was italian restaurant, we were given a basket of complimentary bread. We began to order. We skipped the appetizer and straight ordering main course. After we finished ordering, the waiter asked us whether we want to try their pizza while waiting for the main course to come. We said no and regret it later as the main course turns out took quite time to be served.

Mixed grilled medallion and sausage with fresh salad and potato gratin (78k). It was a fillet of beef and lamb with pork sausage. They put the fresh salad inside fried dumpling that was made like a bowl. The dumpling were crunchy and delicious. The beef and lamb didn't suite my taste. It was lump of mincemeat, and the lamb was very smelly, but the pork sausage was nice and I loved the potato gratin.

Grilled baby pork ribs served with roasted baby potatoes and aragula (149k). I'm not a fan of pork ribs, even the one at Tony's, so I didn't really like this one either, but my hubby and my friend who ordered this said that it was good. The baby potatoes were well fried and well seasoned.

Grilled 200gr rib eye steak with fresh salad and baby potatoes (165k). It came with black pepper sauce. It was good. The meat was juicy and tender.

I must say and that I enjoyed my dinner there and loving the ambiance. I will be coming back to try on their pizza since I saw quite many have pizzas on their table.

Tin Pan Alley

Me and my friend went to Tin Pan Alley on Saturday afternoon. It was around 2pm when we reached there. As it was located in office building and was not in lunch time, no wonder the place was empty. Only had 3 tables filled beside ours. Like the name, the restaurant it self did located and designed like an alley.

We just ate Rujak Kolam at ITC so we were kinda full and skipped the appetizers. I chose Mushroom stuffed chicken breast (69k) for my late lunch. The sauce was supposed to be cream cheese, but as I didn't eat cheese, I asked the waiter to change to mushroom sauce. It was good. It was fried chicken breast stuffed with mixed vegetables and chopped mushrooms, accompanied with mashed potatoes and steam beans and carrots.

My friend chose Grandma's Fried Chicken (75k), breaded chicken fillet topped with mushroom sauce and accompanied with mashed potatoes and steam vegetables. It was also good. The beverages, classic and strawberry lemonade was refreshing.

They have a 50% promotion on food using particular credit card that my friend happen to have. Yay! So it was a good lunch with a good 50% deal. =)
