It's been a while since the last opening of new restaurant around Senopati. If you pay close attention, almost all restaurants and cafes opening at the neighborhood comes with similarities as in nicely designed interior with great ambiance, and social media buzzing. Normally when it comes to newbies at Senopati, we will heard buzzing about them even way before they open. This particular one is so quiet and humble that it doesn't feel Senopati-ish.

MOI Bistro Gunawarman Jakarta
It's not a common sight to find a rather petite humble eatery at Senopati area. Most of the diners there usually are big houses turned into a stylish pretty cafes or restaurants. I was having some things to do around the neighborhood when I realized I haven't had my lunch. Being not dressing up and not really into dining alone in that sort of hipster places, MOI Bistro caught my attention.

MS. CHOO SENOPATI JAKARTA

AMBER CHOCOLATE BAR SENOPATI
There aren't many restaurants that comes with strong ambiance which can affected me the moment I walked in, but Amber did. Amber is sophisticated in so many levels. The newest restaurant from Mount Scopus group which also managed Negev, Balboni, The Harvest and Chateau Blanc is located at Senopati area just across Cacaote.

MOJO Kitchen & Bar Senopati
"Eating is a part of life, you should get the best". I feel the quote written in MOJO's menu book is absolutely well said. I have been wanting to go to MOJO since they opened, but during their soft opening days, they only open starts 6pm and it went on for several months. For some reasons, it's harder for me to arrange a visit to a place at Senopati in that kind of time range. By the time they start the operational hours from afternoon, I have quite frankly forgotten them due to so many other new restaurants.

UMABO
It always funny how a restaurant seems to be less stand out from other more happening ones, especially when they seriously offer a great food. In this case, Umabo is the perfect example. My friends and I have the similar feelings towards the place when it was just opened on beginning of this year. It was a new place which we normally would be excited to try, but we just don't, until last month, 7 months after their opening and we finally decided to give it a shot.

Bradley's British Tea House
Stepping inside Bradley's British Tea House, don't expect to be awed into a stylish Victorian ambiance which usually identical to the word high tea. Instead, expect to be welcomed into a homey petite tea house with touch of vintage and flowers all over the room. The kind of place which might not blown you with it's looks but comfortable enough for an evening tea time.

Three Buns Burger Senopati Jakarta
For many people it's about the burger, for me it's about their concept. Burger is by far my least favorite when it comes to junk food. When Three Buns opens for business and the burger hysteria start to dominates all over social media, to be honest, I wasn't even intrigued. But when I saw the picture of their interior on instagram, I was triggered.

Izakaya Issei
The recently opened Japanese diner took place at the street of Senopati, just next to the popular patisserie, Cacaote. Located on the second floor of a cute tiny cafe named Appetite and a barber shop, I loved the Japanese looks on the door entrance. It was one of those place with strong Japanese concept. Small, dark ambiance with an illustration painting of Geisha at one of the side walls.

Le Quartier
It has been raining heavily since morning and hasn't been showing any sign that it will stop soon. I never like rain. It tend to ruin my mood. But, at least for today, I have the rain to thank for keeping me at home to finish on some pending posts from last year.
Finally! A chance to visit one of the most talked about place in town. I have been desperately wanting to go to Le Quartier months months ago, around June last year year when I passed by the place. The white & cobalt blue house turned into restaurant is looking too fancy to be missed out. Yet, only until a couple days before Christmas I finally got the chance to visit this French restaurant.

Cacaote
My pictures might not do the justice, but Cacaote is definitely one of the most beautiful dining place in town. Located not too far from the famous pastry cafe, Colette & Lola, Cacaote definitely raise the bar high to others patisserie at Senopati area. The place is a big Victorian house turned into a fancy two storey restaurant. As we walked inside the white door, I was awed by the elegance of the place. It was so pretty.

Wilshire, The Foundry No. 8
Say Hi to Wilshire, One of the newest addition in town carrying the name same as one of the boulevard in Los Angeles. I went there last Saturday nights with my girlfriends and instantly love their concept design. The whole room surrounded with dark wood walls and furniture, the yellow lights with crystal makes the place chic and elegant, yet so pretty with a section where they put long tables with bunch of flowers on the back and pattern cushions on the couches.

Yeyo Lobby & Eatery
Finally! A new post in June!
The past severalmonths weeks, I have been swamped. My big bro got married couple days ago and I was in charge as the insider "wedding organizer". As happy as I am for him, I am so freakin' glad the wedding day had passed and the days full of wedding preps are finally over. It realized me on one thing, wedding organizer is definitely not something I want to be. >.<

Colette & Lola
The first time I heard about Colette & Lola, a new cakery concept from Ismaya group was during Jakarta Culinary Festival on 2012, and ever since I have been waiting impatiently for it to open. Not because I am a sweet tooth, but more to the fact I always love almost all restaurants under Ismaya. Getting more anxious when I learned to know the pastry chef, Steve Diaz, have had a promising international pastry career in England, Lebanon, Cairo and America. So several days after the opening of Colette & Lola, I dragged hubs to accompany me there.

[CLOSED] Publico Senopati
Publico is a newly opened bistro located at Senopati street. An impromptu lunch date with my bestie last Sunday took me to this Western cuisine type bistro which happen to be under the same group of Pan & Barrel. The place was a big white house turned into a classy looking diner. The first floor, only meant for reception with two stories above meant for diners with smoking and non smoking section separated by floors.

Commune 25
Right at the moment when I was in need of a good meal and great company, there they were... Duo combination of Commune and my girls. Last Saturday without doubt was one of my best lunch date in the past few months, 4 hours spoiled with great friends, good laughs and scrumptious food. One of the girls recently was blessed on being a new young mom of a healthy handsome baby boy, Sebastian. So, couple days after Baby S's one month old, we gathered for a not so quick catch up at Commune.

Iluminare Ristorante
Last month before Lebaran holiday, I met up with the girls for an afternoon lunch. One of the girls stayed at SCBD area and she told us that she frequently passed around two Italian diners with busy crowds every night, Torino Osteria and Iluminare Ristorante. Since both were located in the same area and we didn't know which one is nicer, we agreed to just pass both of the places and see which one suits us.

Raja Begor
One of my ex colleagues told me that this place had the best fried duck she ever eaten. Out of curiosity, one night my husband and I went there for dinner. The place was an old house turned into a modest and casual restaurant located in the intersection of Suryo road.
They served typical Indonesian food from fried duck, chicken, fish and ribs in soup. We chose Fried duck (29k) and Fried duck with green chilli (29k). It came with steamed fragrant rice and urap (mixed veggies). For the fried duck, we can chose two types of chilli from their selections of sambal kemangi, sambal mangga, sambal ijo, sambal korek and sambal terasi. The duck was deep fried, crisp on the skin and quite tender on the meat. The urap and fragrant rice were delicious.
