Woodpecker Coffee Jakarta

The minimalist touch got me hooked within a heart beat. I love how the place is clean and sleek with homey feel. Personally, being a reserved person, I always enjoy a quiet place rather than those hipster crowded spot. That is also one of the reason of why I feel the need to visit a new place at early stage, to have that privilege of sitting wherever I want, for as long as it takes, and as silent as it can be.

I just came back from a trip with Hubs' family. Unlike me, Hubs comes from, well... not so big family, but definitely bigger than mine. The trip involved 15 family members. I grew up in a small family, since I was little, there was just the four of us. Mom and Dad, my big brother and I. Having to travel in such big group to be honest was overwhelming for me. So, a private moment at Woodpecker a day after my holiday ends was just what I needed at the time. I was so in the mood to be isolated. Fortunately, it was supported by a nice ambiance and a decent meal.

Just recently opened for public, I was secretly cheered to find I was the only customer during the visit, though I am certain it's only a matter of time before they got packed. Being under the same management with Mama Goose, a fine looking bistro located near the neighborhood, both have some cute brand name as well as a nice looking interior. It's not some fancy jaw dropping kind of look, it's the simplicity.

I was surprised to see how affordable the menu they offer. The coffee range from 15 - 27k. The only light bites they have, the waffle, is as cheap as 15k with cost of extra toppings around 5-10k. I was beyond happy how my Strawberry nutella waffle turned to be more than fine. The size and taste were definitely worth more than the price tags. It wasn't as crisp as how I prefer my waffle to be, but it was a good 30k. How they were not cheap on the strawberry slices was just another icing on the cake.

If you are kind enough to follow my food journey, it's obvious how I am not a coffee person nor care to review any coffee shop, growing up with mom who can't pass one day without coffee doesn't make me to be one. If I remember correctly, the Iced Cappucinno (27k) that day might be my first coffee sipping. And no, it doesn't magically turn me to be a coffeeholic. I won't be writing much on the taste seeing I don't even sure how a good coffee should taste, but I did finish it. Little that I know how coffee and waffle could actually works.

I never spent more than an hour in a coffee shop alone. The fact that I spent 1,5 hours there shows how I enjoyed my woodpecker time. If only I bring along my latest purchased of John Green's novel that day, I'm sure another one hour will easily be spent.

So, go... Hurry, before too many knows about the place and you lost that sense of quiteness. :)

Thank you for reading and I wish you a fantastic August!
