Meet Tian Tian, one of Spore's famous local hawker who won over Chef Gordon Ramsay during Singapore hawker challenge on July this year. The words of how good their Hainanese chicken rice has been around in ages, and not like they need to win over Gordon Ramsay to be popular, as the queuing line at their stalls in Maxwell food centre has been a strong proof on how they are loved by the locals and tourists.
Hubs and I never missed a visit sometimes two visits to a chicken rice stalls whenever we at Spore. We normally went to our favorite, Wee Nam Kee, but this time, the whole winning over Gordon Ramsay's challenge has brought us to try Tian Tian for the first time. We reached Maxwell food centre before lunch time and there has been some queuing (the line gets longer by the time we finished our lunch, it is recommended to go there before lunch time). They occupied two stalls by side, queue at the first stall for order and go to the next stall for pick up.
The chicken rice set is pretty cheap, only $3.50 per plate, though we didn't go with the rice set. We opted for their half boiled chicken ($12) instead, added a plate of green veggies and 2 plates of Hainanese rice ($0.70). No wonder they are one of Spore's most famous chicken rice. The chicken was very tender and juicy, the rice was fragrant. It was delicious, period.
