Another eatery opens at Pantai Indah Kapuk, bringing a different atmosphere to the neighborhood with Hawaiian food concept. It located on the not so crowded part of PIK, so I didn't really take notice until one of my friends went there and shared with me how she loves the food they served. I never go to Hawaii nor know anything about Hawaiian food, hence I was very excited to have my first Hawaiian food. :)
Around 2 months ago, yes.. this is a very late post, I went there for a quick lunch. They definitely want to make the place to be Hawaiian look with the big Aloha painting on the walls, fish nets, Ukulele (Hawaiian guitars) and many more. The place covered with dusty looking type of walls and woods to emphasize on the whole Hawaiian beach concept.
The bistro indeed serves vary of Hawaiian dishes. We started our lunch with Ahi Poke (32k), this marinated sashimi tuna definitively a joy for sushi lovers. It was fresh and the house special sauce they used was perfectly marinated making it salty enough to enjoy. The signature 'kalakaua' ice tea (32k) came with pineapple sorbet on the top, sourly refreshing.
Hawaiian lunch plate identic with two scoops of rice, salad and entree. We ordered their Loco Moco (two hamburger patties with two eggs above two scoops of rice, smothered with brown gravy and salad) 65k and Bistro bento (a big plate of rice with barbeque beef, fish katsu, spam (pork) and boneless fried chicken) 72k.
We like both of them. The beef patties on the loco moco were juicy and tasty, I love the little burnt taste on it. Though personally I prefer the bistro bento as I didn't really enjoy eating my rice smothered with gravy sauce. People who eats a lot will surely satisfy with the portion of bistro bento, especially with the generous cuts of different types of meat they have.
In conclusion, I enjoyed our lunch and doesn't mind to come back for next visit. The food is good and comes with affordable price. Mahalo Hawaiian Bistro!
