Republic of Burger Cipete Jakarta

I never am a burger person. It's probably my least favorite junkfood. But there's always that kind of moment when you just have a sudden urge craving that makes you go all the way despite the traffic and the long distance. That's the story of how I drove all the way to Cipete, hoping for a great burger at this petite place that I found sometime ago during my lunch at Tapas Movida which located only stores away. 

Republic of Burger is the kind of place where you come only for the food and not for the ambiance. The place is pretty standard, not really the kind of cafe to hang too long.

They focus on bringing what they know best, a good burger! With quite of choices of burgers & hotdog ranging from 32-76k, I went for their popular one, The Republican Monster (76k). It was a huge burger! Easily enough to share for two. Inside you'll find Australian wagyu beef patty, thick and juicy with cheddar cheese, bacon and a sunny side up. It's the kind of burger which can drool you with its fatty and sinful look. Though the taste wasn't worth my more than an hour drive, I still feel it was a good burger. The only downside was the quality of bun they used, it was a bit grainy, not soft type of bun.

It's my ultimate kind of fries and they cooked it just right! Crunchy, not oily and remains crisp till the end. Obviously I didn't finish the burger, but I made sure my tummy could fit in all those yummy fries.

I also tried the Nutella freeze (39k) which also one of their popular items. A glass of nutella blended with chocolate ice cream and low fat milk. It''s like their own version of chocolate milkshake. Tasted decent, too sweet for my liking.

Overall it's good to know them, decent taste of burger but it'll take more to get my ass back there.
