Ivy's Guide: What To Eat At Citra 6

Since late 2014 last year, Citra 6 has evolved from a homey neighborhood with none whatsoever cafe into a line of street at Sixth Avenue filled with growing humble eatery and petite cafes.

Don't take this list as a recommendation as we only tried one or two dishes from each cafe mentioned below, just take it as a guide on what cafe and eatery expected to be found when you plan to have your lunch or dinner at this neighborhood.

**this post will be updated regularly.

Ninotchka
Citra Garden 6, Sixth Avenue J5A/ 18

Opening hours: 1pm - 10pm (closed on Tuesday)

I can't start the guide without mentioning Ninotchka at first. Being the pioneer of the first cafe at the neighborhood, the owner, blogger Sonia Eryka sets the bar high for the other contenders. It's affordable price, it's scrumptious cakes and good coffees are some of what makes customers keep coming back. Personally for me, their molten lava cake is what keeps me revisiting.

Meaters Steaks & Ribs
Citra Garden 6, Sixth Avenue J5A/ 12

Opening hours:

Price range: 25k - 159k

When it comes to affordable steaks, I always rooted for Abuba for its cheap price yet consistently good steak. I have known Meaters for quite some time before I finally give it a try. They serve chicken, beef and pork with pork knuckle and baby back ribs as their specialties. Since I'm not really into pork, I chose to have the Prime Sirloin (67k) with coleslaw and french fries. I have always love Sirloin more than Tenderloin. As I like my steak well done, I feel the fat compensate the meat from being too dry. I know I have just tried the one, but I feel Meaters is a pretty good place for affordable steaks.

Matchafuku
Citra Garden 6, Sixth Avenue J5A/ 12
(Above Meaters)
Ph. +6221 99249111
Opening hours: 11am - 10pm
IG: @matchafuku
Price range: 15k - 40k

Matchafuku is a Japanese dessert place with soft serve ice cream and parfait. If you familiar with Shirokuma and Shirayuki at Pantai Indah Kapuk, they mostly sell the same type of desserts, only less variety here. Expect to find some savoury snacks like popcorn chicken and shake fries as well.

Shiratama Parfait (25k)

Warung Ce
Citra Garden 6, Sixth Avenue JA5/ 7
Ph. +6221 29030044/ +628179934555
Opening hours: Tue-Sun 11am - 10pm, Mon 5pm - 10pm
IG: @warung_ce
Price Range: 20k - 35k per dish

If pork is your thing, don't miss Warung Ce! This humble homey food serving Sei Pork from Kupang. The food are humbly good, if not great. The pork was succulent, juicy and tender while the variety of soups they have were not to be missed. I seriously recommend this place for all pork lovers. More details on Warung Ce, click here.

Toska
Citra Garden 6, Circle West Lot i 1 blok C1
Ph. +6282117888957
Opening hours: 10am - 10pm (closed on Wednesday)
IG: @hellotoska

If only Toska opens somewhere nearer where I live, I would probably come here thrice a week. Jakarta needs more cafe with healthy smoothies & cold pressed juices. Aside from the juice & smoothie, their choices of food aren't vary. Some sandwiches and waffles only, but if it's up to me, their cold pressed juice is enough. Tried the "I see you" (38k) mixed of orange, pineapple and carrot and it was so good and fresh.

Ozumo
Citra Garden 6, Sixth Avenue
Opening hours: 11am - 10pm
IG: @ozumocitra6
Price range: 25k - 60k

Ozumo is the one eatery caught most attention along the ruko of Sixth avenue with its shiny bright yellow shade exterior. They serve affordable Japanese food. Ramen, sushi, and bento set with price range from only 25k - 60k. Their dessert peaked my interest though to be honest, I am very skeptical when it comes to cute kawaii looks. Most of them rely only on pretty looks with blah taste, but their Poopy ice cream (25k) turns to be more than good. I chose their Coffee and Cream & it comes in bigger portion than expected. Three scoops and one seriously good chocolate wafer. I could see my self coming back here only for its poopy ice cream.

When you feel a bit bored with the food at PIK, and don't want to spend as much money at Kemang or Senopati, you might want to give Citra 6 a try. With so many not yet occupied shops, it's just a matter of time when this area starts to catch up with others as another F&B heaven.

Their pork knuckle tastes great and more than 50% cheaper than Paulaner Brauhaus at GI. Anyone who is into this dish should give Meaters a try.
