Last Saturday, my bestie and I went to the former Bengkel night park located at SCBD which now has transformed to Fairground. Initially, we planned to have lunch in the new Lucy In The Sky, turns out their opening time was at 3.30pm, while we reached there at 1 something, so we went to Goods Diner instead.
The moment I stepped in, it was an instant crush. It was not homey, but somehow the place feels comforting. It strikes me that the place sort of like the bigger yet humble version of Union, with the big window, white brick walls, and the yellow sunflower as table's centerpiece.
I found it odd when I looked at the menu and all they have were sandwich, bagels and pancakes, it turns out on weekend, they only serve brunch menu during 11am - 5pm, ala carte menu will only be served after 5. I was a little bit disappointed, as I was not really up to sandwich & pancakes at the time. But we did sit down already, so we figured to just order a plate to share and headed someplace else for another more fulfilling meals. We went with Sausage Benedict (55k), a plate of homemade sausage patty, half cooked poached egg, sauteed water spinach with hollandaise sauce, accompanied with baby potatoes. A glass of Lychee lemonade (25k) and a cup of Chamomile tea (23k) as our drinks.
Food didn't took long to be served. When comes to food, I need both my eyes and tummy to be pleased equally, hence I was glad to see our plate's presentation was simple yet appealing, the half cooked egg and melted sauce was looking very tempting. Another gladness that they tasted as good as the outlook. The sausage patty was juicy and not over grilled, bread was soft and the sauce was not over powering, it was delicious. And have I mentioned on the poached egg? I mean, just look at this picture.

Mouthwatering, isn't it?
I was not really a brunch person before, but thanks to them, I might be now. I really did enjoy my brunch there. The food was satisfying and the place was definitely comfortable to hang more than just an hour. Me likey, hope to return soon for their ala carte menu.
