MAPLE & OAK MENTENG JAKARTA

As a brunch person, I always have higher interest whenever a new brunch spot is opening up in town, especially one that comes with positive feedback like Maple & Oak. The new kid on the block of Menteng area might just opened for few days when this post was written, but it had gained its own popularity over the social media. 

OTTOMAN's COFFEE BREWERS PLUIT JAKARTA

Although I'm not a coffee person, it is still exciting to see more and more coffee shops opened around my neighborhood. Especially the one that non coffee person could also enjoy, something like this. 

Ottoman's Coffee Brewers comes with interesting breakfast menu or if you prefer the trending word at the moment, we can call it brunch instead of breakfast. But before I get into that, I want to talk about their facad/ interior which was the first thing got me intrigued to enter the place. I love the sky blue color, makes them different than others which normally comes with black to get that monochromatic feels. I never thought blue actually looks good pairing with natural wood color.

Breakfast At Cayenne Kemang Jakarta

Despite the traffic and the 62.9km away from where I stay, Kemang has always been the place I like to go from time to time. I love the neighborhood and the idea of how quite many cafes at Kemang open early from 7-8am. At North, the only place opens that early is noodle shops, so when I don't feel that Chinese, I like to go to Kemang for their American breakfast.

KOMUNAL 88 KEMANG JAKARTA

Just when I thought nothing in Kemang really excites me to drive all the way there, I bumped into Komunal 88. I am confident to say, once you here, it won't stop at only one visit. At least for me, on this 2015, this place by far is one impresses me the most.

SPUMANTE MENTENG JAKARTA

Spumante is a newly opened all day dining restaurant at the heart of Central Jakarta. Located to be exact at Menteng, just beside Anomali Cafe and not too far from one of my favorite Indonesian restaurant, Bunga Rampai. 

BENEDICT GRAND INDONESIA JAKARTA

I feel like this past one month I have been coming to Grand Indonesia so many times, particularly because of the so many new restaurants are popping up here. The West side used to be the only side taking control on the F&B, but now it's time for the East starts with Union Deli, NOMZ, Publik Markette and the newest one, Benedict.

Singapore has always been one of our favorite for short trip. No matter how many times we've been there, personally Hubs and I never bored with the city. Our trip to Spore mostly unplanned so I always have these list of restaurant or cafe to try saved in my mobile. :) Just like our last trip to the city last month, super impromptu and super short. Two Hands Full Bandung

You know how in life there are times when you just have that absolute certain feeling about some things? Our first try out at Two Hands Full definitely give me that sort of feeling. Even it was just a short visit, I am confident enough to say they serve a great brunch!

Madera Kitchen

Sunday in my dictionary is family day. Unless another very important thing comes up, starts from 10am onwards, I belong to my fam. Taking my folks for a brunch or lunch has been forever my thing, since I was single until now that I've married.

A bit out of topic, I am super close with my parents, especially my mom. She's like my best friend, I told her everything and I almost never spent a single day without calling her. It's a blessing I met hubs who cares about my parents as much as he cares about his, so the ritual remains strong. *smooch*

Common Grounds Citiwalk Sudirman

Don't you just love the name? Common Grounds.

Couple days ago, I had to meet someone at Grand Indonesia and I remember I saw a particular picture at one of my favorite IG's account @captainruby (the person behind wanderbites). The coffee and all day breakfast called Common Grounds and it located at Citiwalk, close to my destination that day, so I decided to skip breakfast at home, go early for a solo brunch before my appointment. Boy, did I make the right choice. 

Le Cafe Gourmand Gunawarman Jakarta

I almost never post a review just one day after my visit, but this one is just worth the exception. One of the reason I was willing to drive almost 2 hours on a drizzling rainy and heavy jam yesterday was because my beyond curiosity of this recently opened patisserie. Le Cafe Gourmand might be the new kid on the block at Gunawarman street, but they are definitely not a newbie in the business. Established on 2012 in Surabaya, this French patisserie is utterly popular in their home town. 

Common Man Coffee Roasters Singapore

I love brunch. It's my favorite meal of the day. Since Spore has bunch of them, it has become a habit for me to always include at least one visit to a new brunch place, whenever I happen to go to the country. I even had a list of all the recommended brunch places in Spore saved in my mobile's notepad and one on the top of the list is Common Man Coffee Roasters.

Baker & Cook, Singapore

Have you ever go to a place diner and then you just simply can't wait to go back?

My trips to Spore has always been about food hunting, and I have met a lot of great places which serves delicious kind of food, but neither one has made me wandering on the second visit so frequently like this one. Baker & Cook has been on my Spore food list for quite some time, but only until this trip I managed to go there with hubs for a morning breakfast.

Hatched @Holland Village, Spore

One of my friends who stayed in Spore told me that Hatched is one of those breakfast places which less known by tourist but well known by the locals. I figured, if the place was well known by locals, it should be a good one. So the next morning, we went to Hatched for our breakfast. 

Common People

Last Thursday, my girls and I met up at one of the most talked about eatery at Kemang, Common People. Took place at the same building where Praline used to be, the interior was warm and cozy. Unlike what might seem a bit old from the outside, the inside actually designed pretty nice. Dark colour brick walls with glass windows and big chandelier lamps. The big brown couches next to the windows added the whole warm vintage look.

Sunday Brunch at Monolog

One of my favorite meal of the day is breakfast. Brunch to be exact as I am not a morning person, and even if I wake up early, I hardly can eat in such early hour. Fortunately, plenty cafes in Jakarta serve brunch in reasonable hour for sleepyhead like me. Some even offer an all day breakfast, though personally I never like to have breakfast kind of meal in hours after 12 afternoon. 

Wild Honey @Scotts Square

Wild Honey is all about various kinds of all day breakfast. They have two branches at Mandarin Gallery and Scott's Square. I have been wanting to go here since my two last visits to Spore, but the wait list at Mandarin threw me off both times. Luckily, my friend mentioned to try go to the one at Scott's Square as she heard it has lesser wait list compare to the other branch and she's right. After waiting for around 20 mins we were seated with reminder that we need to leave the table in approximately 1,5 hours. The risk of dining in an always wait list cafe. 

I love this branch better than the one at Mandarin, the interior is the same though, elegant modern with dim light but the one at Scott's had a balcony spot with beautiful view looking through Orchard road. Lucky for us we got the balcony spot and the weather was in favor of, quite windy. Also, they were able to took reservation via phone while the one at Mandarin didn't.

Dean & Deluca @Orchard Central Singapore

Last week, I went for a 3 days short trip to Spore with my ex colleagues. It's really something that we are all still hanging out and pretty close with one another even though we had resigned from the company for quite some time. Sadly, two of us were not able to join the trip so it was only three of us departing from Jakarta meeting the other 1 who stays in Spore. Our main purpose for this trip besides of just hang out and having fun was food hunting! One of the girls even made a very impressive list of what we called our food itinerary since the list didn't have other agenda than food. :)

Dean & Deluca is New York's most iconic gourmet store which established on 1977 as a small grocery store in the corner of SoHo, and since then they had widely expanded into fast food & cafe chains to cities around the states and slowly branches out internationally. Spore is the 8th country to have Dean & Deluca.

Offering the best food products from around the world, the first outlet took quite space at the 4th level of Orchard Central. Designed semi open air with the classic black & white, there was an alley full of products from herbs & spices, candies & chocolates, coffee & tea and many more. 

Downtown Bistro

Several days ago, I went to a recently open bistro located in the heart of Sudirman. Unlike what I had in mind, the place was not too spacious although the outdoor area was quite large, but I do like how they did with the interior inside. I love the bricks on the wall, the dotted floor, the mirror ceiling, and the bookshelves which gave library (slash) intimate diner feeling. The two things bothered me were the way too loud Jazz music and the air-con which freakishly hot.

The Goods Diner

Last Saturday, my bestie and I went to the former Bengkel night park located at SCBD which now has transformed to Fairground. Initially, we planned to have lunch in the new Lucy In The Sky, turns out their opening time was at 3.30pm, while we reached there at 1 something, so we went to Goods Diner instead.
