Nagi Ramen Jakarta

Oh that furious day...

Most of my Sunday has always been typical. Go to my parents' house & spend the day with them. A couple of Sundays ago, it got screwed up. I was on my way when mom's not picking up her phone. I knew that she must still in her Sunday morning ritual... Grocery shopping. Since I was on my way already, it will be a waste of time to drive back and I was not really keen on spending an hour or so at an empty house waiting them to come home, so I thought it will be a good idea to go to Kelapa Gading. It's 10am and I was at freeway, giving an approx 15 mins to reach there, I figure it would still be a good time for me to have a oneself breakfast before the place starts to piled up with people.

As someone who rarely go to Kelapa Gading, I didn't know that it even jammed on Sunday. In front of MOI, to be exact, and thanks to the genius at Nagi Ramen who picked up the phone when I asked for direction, I ended circling the entire boulevard for quite some time before I finally reached there on 11! The place was fully packed, and someone was having a birthday party! So yes, I looked like a lonely person who eats by herself on Sunday. *rolling eyes*

Ramen Nagi originates from Japan, but their popularity in Hong Kong is huge and often been quoted as one of the best ramen there. The ramen comes with broth selection of pork and chicken, they served unique types of ramen such as Kuro ramen with Japanese herbs flavor, Midorio ramen with Italian herbs flavor, Sansyoo ramen with Chinese's bahkut teh flavor, Genkio ramen with Japanese curry.

I didn't want to order something I will regret, so I stick with their favorite, Butao Ramen (49,5k) and Yaki Gyoza (38k). Their ramen is daily homemade with no preservatives, they even have customized noodle machine imported from Japan to ensure the size and texture of noodles are all the same.

Luckily, the ramen was delicious! The noodle's texture was firm, broth was very savory and the tamago was almost perfect. The best tamago I ever had so far was the one from Marutama Ramen, it was a perfect half cooked egg, and Nagi Ramen's tamago was the closest one. The gyoza was also very good, the dumpling's skin has perfect thickness and the pork inside were absolutely moist & juicy.

I'm glad my Sunday was not entirely blows, and I do really like their ramen, although not too sure on going for second visit, unless I happen to be in the neighborhood.
